ECO Information for the day - MISSION AND VALUES
The mission of ECO: A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians is the building of flourishing churches that make disciples of Jesus Christ.
In the early days of ECO, there were nine key values that shaped the movement. These values are clearly a springboard of beliefs and actions. These are not something that people say, “Oh, I agree to these” and then move on to do the same old things in the same old way. These are launch- ing local churches to find their identity in the Lord, desire to daily live for and serve the Lord, and introduce people to the Lord. The values are as follows, and we are currently in a preaching series uplifting and explaining each one.
- Jesus Shaped Identity
- Thoughtful Theology
- Egalitarian Ministry
- Center Focused Spirituality
- Kingdom Vitality
- Biblical Integrity
- Accountable Community
- Mission Centrality
- Leadership Velocity
Jesus Shaped Identity Thoughtful Theology Egalitarian Ministry Center Focused Spirituality Kingdom Vitality
Biblical Integrity Accountable Community Mission Centrality Leadership Velocity
Because of these values, ECO desires to see both local and global engage- ment in the life of individuals and churches through:
• Providing Biblical, engaging, and meaningful worship services
• Choosing some elements of service right in their own church area
• Equipping and training individuals to be involved in the community• Conducting meaningful short-term mission trips
• Evaluating missionary and project opportunities to support
• Educating and engaging the congregation in global mission ministry
**Sunday September 29th at noon, there will be a question and answer time for people to ask questions about ECO. A light lunch will be provided. Please RSVP to Cheryl in the office, so we can plan for food.
