What Does That Mean? Psalm 119:1-88 (Part Three)

A quick review of:

  1. God’s statutes: God’s warning signs that He gives to us to protect us. These are His boundaries for our lives.
  2. God’s judgements are to both comfort and motivate us to live godly lives according to the word of God.

Now the third principle that I studied was God’s precepts: This is a guiding principle that is used to influence and control one’s personal conduct so we can conform to the image of Christ.

We do not know who the author of Psalm 119 is, but when we carefully read and reread this Psalm, the author has experienced great trouble in his/her life. But, through this turmoil, one has come to a place of wise and compassionate devotion to conform to the nature of God.

May it be our greatest desire that as we read and reread God’s perfect word, for the Holy Spirit to make us wise and train us in righteousness and equip us for every good work (2 Timothy 3:15-17).

Plus, just a personal thought: May our faces reflect the joy of Christ. God bless you!
