The Lord God Almighty Is Never Weary Nor Exhausted

by Jim Dunn on October 07, 2023

“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.” Isaiah 40:28

Recently, I was returning from a lengthy bike ride. My leg hurt as I am recovering from a strained calf muscle. My body was exhausted and I was thrilled to dismount so I could recover.

During the last couple of miles I was reminded that our great God never faints or becomes exhausted. Peddling away I began thinking about some of the ways that the Lord never wearies because He is infinite in all of His ways.

Here are a few random thoughts that grabbed me and filled me with peace as I peddled away:

  • God is never exhausted from forgiveness (1 John 1:9)
  • God is never exhausted from loving (John 3:16, 17)
  • God is never exhausted in taking care of our eternal inheritance (Ephesians 1:13,14; 1 Peter 1:3,4)
  • Nothing, absolutely nothing, can ever exhaust or weary or frighten or destroy the Lord God Almighty.

“Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations before the mountains were brought forth, or even You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.” (Psalm 90: 1,2)

So, if you ever think that God can’t or won’t forgive you because He doesn’t have enough forgiveness to go around, be glad that you are wrong. Nothing can exhaust Him.

So, if you think He can’t or won’t love you or someone else because of what you or they have done, be glad that you are wrong. He is never exhausted and out of love.

So, remember He and He alone is infinite. Thus, there is no end to what He can and will provide for you or me. The Scriptures remind us that God will never faint, grow weary, become exhausted or lose His love for you.

I was glad to end my exhausting bike ride, but I was thrilled to be reminded that nothing, absolutely nothing can exhaust my God and yours.
