“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9
On Friday September 22, 2023, four grown men were being taken from the Kodiak Baptist mission to the Kodiak Airport. Two other men were giving us a ride as we had stayed an extra week at the mission. Stephen Foreman told us an incredible story of his 11-year-old son Landry. Let me share this with permission from his dad.
Stephen and his wife Kelly had a parent/teacher meeting just a few days before and at the conclusion of their meeting the teacher said, “I have one more thing to share.” She went on to share that everyday Landry brings his Bible to school in his backpack. Ok by her. Then she said that last week some of the boys were fooling around while standing in line. Landry turned to the boys and said, “you boys need to get Romans 10:9 right, because when you get Romans 10:9 not only will you be saved, but you will also know how to behave correctly. He went on to say, “Read it, memorize it, learn it, and live it.”
Wow! If an 11-year-old boy can have the courage to share his faith and what it causes him to be, I believe, we too can do the same. His parents, who love the Lord, were so glad to hear from Landry’s teacher and I can only imagine how his Heavenly Father must be smiling over Landry. Thank you Landry for loving God’s Word, living it out, and inspiring us.
