Questions and Answers

by Lorna Zink on June 04, 2022

Some years ago, one of my favorite books was Stephen Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People”. This book was changing people’s lives. The habits were impactful. The second habit was “begin with the end in mind”. He asks the reader to do an exercise: Imagine that you have died. Ask yourself, what are people thinking and feeling about you?

Personally, I would want people to say I was a Christian. I also would want people to feel that I had loved and been loved. I would hope I had made a difference (in a good way) in people’s lives. I would hope people would say I had tried to live with integrity. What would you say?

Let’s take this question to a much higher level and ask a question in which there is something so important at stake. What would God say and feel about your life?

The potential for existing in a loving relationship with an all-powerful God, with Jesus our Savior, and with other Christians is at stake. Do you look forward to a wonderful future ahead with God? To life eternal? This relationship with God can start now by trusting in Jesus Christ.

Consider the kind of life that God is calling you to live. Pursue the kind of life that will be pleasing in God’s sight.

Consider what God says is important in His word:

Deuteronomy 6:5 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.”

John 13:34 “A new command I give you, love one another as I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
