There are 2 foundational realities that if fully embraced form the bedrock on which we can build a life, the life that God had in mind for us when He first created humanity. The life which Jesus described as abundant and full to the point of overflowing.
John 10:10
10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].
Take a look at your own life, how does it compare to the life that Jesus came to give?
If you are not experiencing a joy in life that you are unable to contain then may I suggest considering the following. We may be basing our lives on some false premises. And if so, sadly we may be living out the old idiom “garbage in … garbage out…” It has been said that reality is what you run into when you are wrong.
The first of these realities is found in the first 4 words of the Bible; “In the beginning God…” Everything starts with the Creator God.
John 1:3 AMP
3 All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him not even one thing was made that has come into being.
Colossians 1:16-17 AMP
16 For by Him all things were created in heaven and on earth, [things] visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [that is, by His activity] and for Him. 17 And He Himself existed and is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. [His is the controlling, cohesive force of the universe.]
It all starts with God, the uncaused cause, the great I Am, the Beginning and the End. If you don’t start here, you have lost before you even get started. Everything flows from this; space, time, matter, plants, animals, humans, life.
The second reality flows from the above, we are driven to the Word given us by our Creator God which describes who we are as humans; God’s crowning creation in that man was created in God’s image.
Genesis 1:26 AMP
26 Then God said, “Let Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness [not physical, but a spiritual personality and moral likeness]; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth.”
Genies 2:7 AMP
7 then the Lord God formed [that is, created the body of] man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and the man became a living being [an individual complete in body and spirit].
Psalm 8:3-6 AMP
3 When I see and consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have established, 4 What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of [earthborn] man that You care for him? 5 Yet You have made him a little lower than God, And You have crowned him with glory and honor. 6 You made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet,
