Eager to Share the Gospel

by Marcos Schultz on December 01, 2023

I am in debt to both the Greeks and the non-Greeks, to the wise and to the foolish.Paul says in Romans 1.14

I am not sure exactly what he is saying, but I understand his conclusion (1.15): "So I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome."

It reminds me of Andrea, a young Mexican gal who was chomping at the bit to head off to the Middle East as a missionary.

It was Sunday morning, 22 years ago.

Andrea had tickets for a Wednesday flight.

But that Sunday, we woke up to the news that war had started, in response to the horror of the Twin Towers a month previous.

We all knew Andrea could not fly out to the Muslim world now.

Yet, she walked to the front of the congregation and calmly assured us, “Now more than ever, I need to go. What’s more, Woe to me, if I do not go.”

She, like Paul, was 100% committed.

No turning back, no choosing the easy way out.

Look at what the Bible tells us about the shepherds who saw Jesus lying in a manger in Luke 2:16-18: “So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen Him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.” They too, were eager to tell others about Jesus.

How about you? Are you eager are you to share the gospel?
