Under His Wing

by Kristen Lambdin on September 24, 2020

"May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under Whose wings you have come to take refuge." Ruth 2:12

One of the fundamental jobs of a parent is to watch over their children. They do everything in their power to keep them from danger, from difficulty, damaging influences, from disease and death. It’s an Incredible responsibility. This is the same responsibility that God takes over us! He “watches over” His children. He is our keeper.

Psalm 121 says, “I lift up my eyes to the hills” (a place of danger, difficulty, even temptations). “Where does my help come from?” “My help comes from the Lord – the creator of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip. He who watches over you will not slumber or sleep. The Lord watches over you. The Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm. He will watch over your life. The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”

When we commit our lives to Christ, God becomes our Heavenly Father – He accepts responsibility for our lives just as parents take responsibility for their children. The Lord watches over us…always…everywhere…and in every situation! When you lift up your eyes and look at whatever “mountains” you face, ask the question, “Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord”– is the ultimate answer! He’ll get you through anything. He is watching over you.
