Over time we learn that God is made up of a Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Yet I think most of us have only a slim knowledge of the Holy Spirit. Interestingly, King David spoke if the Holy Spirit in one of his Psalms:
“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from Your presence or take Your Holy Spirit from me,” Psalm 51: 10-11
I remember years ago in a Sunday School class, a pastor encouraged me to remember that God is a Trinity. I try to remember this in my prayers. My favorite verse about the Holy Spirit is:
“in the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” Romans 8:26
It is a comfort to know that God is with us and praying for us. I especially remember this verse when I am very upset and it's comforting to know that the Spirit is acting on my behalf.
