Last week, Peter, in his closing words, encouraged us to stand firm in that powerful and trusty combination—faith and grace [1 Peter 5:9, 12]. He reminded us of the strength we draw from these divine gifts.
Today, Paul opens his letter to the church at Colossae with a message that echoes Peter’s sentiment, offering both encouragement and blessing:
"To the saints and faithful brothers in Christ at Colossae:
Grace to you and peace from God our Father." Colossians 1:2
God’s amazing grace.
Peace that surpasses all understanding.
I’ll take a double portion of each, s'il vous plaît (if you please)!
It is amazing that God is intent on giving such good gifts to sinners like us. It is not because we deserve peace, but because His grace allows us to have peace.
Oh God, how thankful I am for You!
