On Mission

by Jon Hathorn on October 22, 2024

Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house,” bearing witness to what would be spoken by God in the future.” Hebrews 3:

Some people are foreign missionaries and serve God in other countries, doing what they can to help the message of Jesus Christ be shared. There are often cultural and language barriers, sometimes hostile environments or even hostility toward God.  Some people are missionaries here in the United States, doing what they can to help the message of Jesus Christ be shared. There can be cultural challenges and hostile responses to the message of Jesus in these environments as well. In all of this, there is a commitment to be faithful to the Great Commission - in attempting to help make disciples.

Have you ever thought of your life as living like a missionary - as in always living for Jesus - doing what He wants and saying what He wants. This is called living missionary. Just like those missionaries who are mentioned in the previous paragraph - we might need to overcome some things that might seem hard. We might have to learn more about the language of the Bible to be able to share.

In Matthew 28:18-20 there is a phrase in the Great Commission, “Go into all the world.”  Actually, if we look at the original language the meaning is more correct using the phrase “as you are going.”  In other words, all believers are to live “on mission”.  Some people may feel a call to go to another country. But each believer is supposed to make disciples as we go through life.
