As I have learned from the book of Peter, our way of thinking can be a weapon of warfare for us. So it follows, logically, that God gives us guidelines concerning what to be thinking:
“Whatever is true, whatever is noble,
whatever is right, whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—
if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—
think about such things.” Philippians 4.8 NIV.
And, to top it off, we have the added advantage of having the mind of Jesus.
1 Corinthians 2.16, “…But we have the mind of Christ.”
Not bad, not bad at all.
It’s going to take a little effort on our part though. If it were effortless, Paul would not have to have told Christians to do it. So, take hold of what God instructs us to do in His word. Think about things that are good and godly!
