First Word Problems

by Jon Hathorn on July 23, 2024

“For it is by Grace that you are saved….” Ephesians 2:8

“It’s too hot!”

“The car has a scratch!”

“My favorite shirt is in the laundry!”

“The ATM was out of money!”

“The doorbell chimes only ding 1/2 of the notes!”

 “The grocery store closed early!”

These are “first world” problems. People in third world countries often don’t own cars, they don’t know what an ATM is, they don’t even have a house so having chimes is out of the question, and real grocery stores as we know are beyond their imagination.

What about real-life questions, maybe you’ve asked them and maybe you haven’t.

“God are you still there?”

 “Lord can you hear me?”

“What’s going to happen to me when I die?”

“Is there really a heaven and if so how do I get there?”

“Is the Bible true and is it really from God?”

These questions in the previous paragraph are significant and real questions that everyone on earth should answer.

Here are the answers:

 “God are you still there?”

Psalm 139:7-10 King David writes, “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.”

“Lord can you hear me?”

1 John 5:14-15 “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.”

“What’s going to happen to me when I die?”

Hebrews 10:27. “It is appointed to men once to die and after that to face the judgement”

“Is there really a heaven and if so how do I get there?”

I John 5:11-12 “He who has the son has life and he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.”

“Is the Bible true and is it really from God?”

2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness”
