Wait On The Lord

Take a moment to watch this short clip from Dallas Willard: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/VjCHK5jqJFE

Are we expectant that God is active in our circumstances?

This doesn’t mean passivity or inaction on our part. But it does mean that our first, foundational posture is one of active trust in the Lord. We seek to stay at least one step behind Him, not rushing ahead with our own plans or assumptions. Then, from that place of trust, and by the prompting of His Spirit, we take our next steps.

We become burdened and weary when we try to carry the weight of this world, our worries, and our trials on our own. But waiting on the Lord isn’t idleness. It’s soul-training. It’s learning to breathe again. To remember that we are not alone. That God is with us. That He is working.

Dallas says, “We must train ourselves.” This kind of trust doesn’t come easily. We must learn to live from a place of daily surrender, returning again and again to God’s presence, so that when pressure or confusion or pain hits, we’re already in the habit of depending on Him.

Can you see how waiting on God is not a burden, but a gift? It’s the path to real peace. Your Father wants joy and rest for you even more than you do. Will you train your soul to trust Him today?

“But those who wait upon God get fresh strength.
They spread their wings and soar like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.”
