“The Welcoming Savior: Christ for All People”

The Magi, some of the first to worship Christ, were foreigners—non-Jewish scholars who traveled from afar. The shepherds, likewise, among the first to worship Him, held a lowly and humble profession, tending their flocks on the outskirts of society. And how does the Savior enter the world? Not with fanfare or majesty, but humbly laid in a feeding trough in an animal stable.

Could God have made it any clearer? The arrival of Jesus is not reserved for the elite, the powerful, or a specific group. From His very birth, God shows us that Christ is a gift for all people—regardless of nationality, social status, or background. Through Jesus, God extends an open invitation to everyone, offering His grace and love freely to all who seek Him.
In a world often divided by culture, class, and status, Jesus stands as the great unifier. This message challenges us to reflect on how we view others—are there boundaries we’ve created that keep us from fully embracing the inclusive love of Christ? Are there people we’ve unintentionally or intentionally kept at a distance?

Today, let us remember that just as the Magi and the shepherds were welcomed to worship at the feet of Christ, so too are we called to open our hearts, making space for all people, and offering the same welcoming spirit God extended to us through His Son. Whether it’s through a simple act of kindness, a word of encouragement, or extending forgiveness, let’s embody the love of Christ, welcoming others to experience the joy of God’s presence through faith in Jesus Christ.
