Not the End, Just the Beginning

Philippians 3:14, “I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.”

When our lives are immersed in the love and service of God, death loses its sting. It is no longer a dreaded ending but a doorway. As Paul says in another letter, death is “swallowed up in victory” (1 Corinthians 15:54).

Some ancient Christians made it a habit to reflect on their mortality every day. Not in a fearful or morbid way, but as a way of staying grounded in truth. They lived with the end in view. They remembered that this world is not the final stop. It was a way to keep eternity close to heart.

We live in a culture that treats death as the great enemy. But in Christ, death is not the end. It is the beginning of life more real than anything we have known here. A life face to face with God.

Eternity is not just a church word. It is a staggering reality. And keeping that truth in focus should shape how we live today. When we know where the race ends, we run with purpose. When we know what matters forever, we hold more loosely to what fades.

So press on. Live today in light of what is coming. Fix your eyes on the prize that does not perish. Christ is waiting at the finish line.
