It’s not uncommon for people to associate a new year with new possibilities, new goals, new self-improvement strategies, new relationships, and overall, a new you. The possibility of change seems within reach when the new year arrives. When that ball drops it represents more than just a tradition, but a fresh start.
BUT what if I told you that a new you were attainable mid-year, end of the year, or any time of the year? What if I told you that a new you could be happening right now?! God’s word is clear that when we repent of our sins and surrender our lives to Christ, we are made new.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” – 2 Corinthians 5:17
With Christ you are a new creation. That means that the old Raquel is long gone. I am now new in Christ Jesus. I have new goals, new passions, new desires, and a new purpose. I have been given a new life. The same is true for you! So, instead of working towards a new you in the new year, embrace the new you in Christ!
