Years ago, I heard a story about three men, toiling on a project, and they were asked what they were doing.
The first said with a shrug, “I’m laying bricks.”
The second said with a smile of satisfaction, “I’m earning a living to support my wife and children.”
The third looked heavenward and joyfully proclaimed, “I am building A CATHEDRAL!”
There the three were, day after day, working side by side, accomplishing the same goal. But the attitude of their hearts determined their joy and satisfaction.
We can seldom determine our circumstances, only how we respond to them. Let’s go out today and build a cathedral!
