Heads-Up!

“And he is the head of the body, the church.”
(Colossians 1:18a)
He is the head.
When I focus on that idea, my imagination pictures a body—arms, legs—and a round-shaped Jesus perched on top of the neck. (A tiny bit valid, I suppose.)
But reading it today, I’m struck by what it really means: Jesus, as the head of the body, isn’t just a symbolic figure. He’s the jefe, the boss, the CEO. The one who gives the orders, runs the show, and holds everything together.
I think we know it, but let’s be honest—we don’t always live it. We often act like we’re in charge, forgetting who’s really calling the shots.
Maybe it’s time to take a step back, let go of the reins, and let the Head lead.
