Grace – teleiõs

Our friend Pete seems healthily hung up on this thing called grace.

In the opening 13 verses of his first letter, we come across it three times.

Yep, I can understand where a fellow who once was the brunt of a “Get-thee-behind-me-Satan” from his friend, Jesus, could really latch on to the eternal offer of getting something you don’t deserve.

Peter emphasizes it in 1.13, by saying we should trust in grace teleiõs. That means completely, no wavering, no wishy-washy.

…set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 1.13b

We are saved not by grace and baptism, not by grace and behaving ourselves, not by grace and being generous, not even by grace and being a real nice guy like Marcos.

We are saved solely because God is a forgiver.

Grace is teleiõs amazing!
