Jesus asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man,am?” Matthew 16:13b
The first morning of our recent cruise, I was having my quiet time with Jesus in the ship’s lounge at 4:30AM. While reading my Bible, a man with a strong German accent came and asked, “What are you reading?” I said, “My Bible.” He then asked, “Do you believe it?” I responded, “Oh yes, with all my heart.” His next statement was powerful as he said, “Good, so do I!”
He was the pilot of our ship and oversaw all the dockings of our ship and the going in and out of 63 locks. His name was Leonardis and his boldness for his faith in Jesus Christ was impressive and genuine. He asked if he could look at my Bible. We chatted and every morning he appeared. I watched his love for Jesus and openness to ask a great question flow out of him, like talking to a brother.
His question remains with me and so I ask you, “Do you believe the Bible?” If yes, how are you living it out? If not, “Why not?” Just a thought.
