The Spiritually Nuclear Eternal Power of Prayer

by Star Heer on April 12, 2021

"Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thess. 5:17

Have you ever read something that seemed too good not to share?  The words below come from a devotional called “Praying for Your Elephant- Boldly approaching Jesus with radical and audacious prayer” by Adam Stadtmiller.

“There are many, many studies and insights to prayer.  I think this is because we still try so hard to understand it- there is a mystery to how we communicate with God. We want our words to be heard, and to matter.”

These words struck me. I’ve never read prayer explained so powerfully. Most of the time I’ve been thinking about prayer in terms of letters to God, or quiet prayers that float or prayers that are like a sweet aroma. None of these interpretations are wrong, but I think it is critical and eye opening to understand the power behind them. Read on…..

“The Devil has no ability to contain prayer. Prayer is spiritually nuclear in nature; it is the raw material of God and His people. Prayer is out of Satan’s influence. He has no power to warp or influence a prayer’s trajectory to God’s throne after it has been prayed. Once a prayer is unleashed, it bounces around eternity in perpetuity, burning before the throne of God like incense.

This is why prayer is so spiritually dangerous for Satan. It supersedes the limitation of a mortal world. Prayer is immortal. It has no boundaries and no marker lines. Prayer holds ultimate potential. The best the Devil can hope for is that you don’t pray.  And much of his strategy is to discourage you from praying at all, as a prayer never prayed has zero chance of ever being answered.”

So, whatever you do, DON’T STOP PRAYING! As written in 1 Thess. 5:17, “Pray without ceasing.” Pray and believe as in Mark 11:24- “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours”.  Pray and seek the One who loves you.  Jeremiah 29:12- “Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you”.  This is spiritually nuclear! And remember this in your heart: “Satan laughs at our toiling, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray.” Author Unknown
