“You have endowed him with eternal blessings and given him the joy of your presence. For the king trusts in the Lord. The unfailing love of the Most High will keep him from stumbling.” – Psalm 21:6–7
In this psalm, David, the psalmist, rejoices in the blessings he has received from the Lord. He marvels at God’s eternal favor, unfailing love, and, most of all, the joy of His presence. What an incredible gift to treasure—the joy of being near to God.
Through Christ, these blessings are yours as well. You are endowed with eternal blessings that no circumstance can take away. God’s unfailing love upholds you and keeps you steady. Best of all, His presence brings a deep and abiding joy that refreshes the soul and strengthens the spirit.
Take a moment today to reflect on this truth: the same God who gave David the joy of His presence offers it to you. Cry out to Him with this simple prayer:
“Father, help me experience the joy of Your presence. Open my heart to receive Your love and let Your joy infuse my very bones. Teach me to trust in You and delight in the nearness of Your presence.”
David was a king and had a lot. But where did His joy come from? The joy of God’s presence. The joy of God’s presence in your life belongs to you too through Christ.
