Sharing The Word

by Lise Bachman-Karnes on September 18, 2021

I’m not much of an evangelist. I do respond when people ask questions, but that’s about it. However, I have come up with something that does share my faith. I belong to a writing group and the participants are not Christian. One is a practicing Jew, but the others are indifferent to faith, if not antagonistic to it. But since we regularly submit writing for review and editing, I have started submitting my words of encouragement to them as well as to the church. While they are looking for typos, et cetera, I am sharing my faith.

The reactions are minimal, but there have been comments about my devotion to the faith and so I know that they are reading them.

Proverbs 3:3 encourages us, “Let not loyalty and faithfulness forsake you; bind them about your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. So, you will find favor and good repute in the sight of God and man.” This verse encourages us to live faithful lives to the Lord and that as we do, we will both please the Lord and our lives with be a light to others.

I can only hope that my life and my words touch their hearts and turn them closer to God. I do my best to reach them where they are. Consider how you might creatively plant seeds for Christ in the lives of others.
