Peace & Blood

by Marcos Schultz on February 25, 2025

"…making peace by the blood of his cross."
(Colossians 1:20b)
His blood establishes peace; our hostilities with God are finished. The war is over.
Paul echoes this truth to the Romans:
"Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God...
we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
having now received reconciliation."
(Romans 5:1, 5:11)
The peace we have is no fragile truce; it is secured by the blood of His cross. It’s not based on how we feel, but on what He accomplished.
When I was a hippie, we used to say, “Peace and love.” That felt meaningful at the time—a call for harmony, a wish for something better.
But today, I rejoice in something infinitely deeper: “Peace and blood.”
Because of His blood, I am no longer at odds with God. Reconciliation isn’t just a possibility; it’s a reality. Through the cross, Jesus didn’t just make peace; He is our peace.
Now, peace isn’t just a word or a feeling—it’s a person, and His name is Jesus.
