Look, Listen, See

"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands."  Psalm 19:1

During the beginning of my college life, I was a cinema major. I enjoyed the world of capturing stories, images, experiences, all that you could think of through the lens of a camera. My friends, who enjoyed the art as well, would join me as we explored the many places throughout the Bay Area that captured such beautiful scenery. One example is in the photo above.

During one of our trips, I pondered to myself, God created incredible things for us, to experience, to see, to enjoy. The precise craftsmanship behind each shadow, curvature of the clouds in the skies, sounds of the birds harmoniously singing in unison, the scintillating sunflowers that flow throughout the fields of green. Yet, days like this, where we sit and soak in His marvelous creation, seem to happen so rarely. Through the busyness of life and all that is involved with it, sometimes it appears as though God has taken the backburner. Or simply put, we take God for granted.

As I sat there reflecting upon my life, one major thought came to mind, God, You're so good. Although circumstances come our way that interrupt the flow of our schedule, and we try to cram 25 hours a day into an 8 day week (yes, I know that is not realistic, but that is how it may seem for some), all it takes is a glance at the sky, listening to the whistle of the breeze or the birds in the trees, and seeing the work of His hands, to remember that God is good. God is worthy to be glorified.

Today, may we find a moment to pause, reflect, and give God the glory. Whether that means closing the computer, putting the phone down, going for a walk, taking the family out for a park or backyard picnic, let's spend more than just that rare moment with God Almighty. Let's live out our faith daily.

Prayer:  "Father God, as busy as life gets, may You be the priority. No matter the circumstances that come our way, may You receive the glory. May our hearts be focused upon You, in awe of Your marvelous works, in adoration for Your love for us, and in submission to Your will over our lives. Thank you for who You are and this incredible opportunity to have a relationship with You. In Jesus Name, Amen.”
