There’s a song on Christian radio that really humbles me: "The Jesus" by Phil Wickham. I believe many Christians in this country don’t fully embrace what he describes. The lyrics convey profound truths:
“If you curse me, then I will bless you.
If you hurt me, I will forgive.
And if you hate me, then I will love you.
I choose the Jesus way.
If you’re helpless, I will defend you.
If you’re burdened, I’ll share the weight.
If you’re hopeless, then let me show you there’s hope in the Jesus way.
I follow Jesus (repeated).
He wore my sin; I’ll gladly wear His name.
He is the treasure;
He is the answer.
Oh, I choose the Jesus way.”
This song has become my favorite. Its beautiful melody and delivery resonate deeply with me, reminding me of how far we can fall short. While I might feel good about the occasional good deed, early Christians and those in some countries today give their all for their faith. In my life, I want to choose the Jesus way.
