Hopeless

"You will seek Me and find Me, when you seek Me with your whole heart." Jeremiah 29:13

Prayer and Feasting Day 5

I remember being a little boy about 5 years old, and I was at the grocery store with my mom.  I enjoyed my independence and didn't want to ride in the cart.  I was pretty good about staying close to mom and pretty good about keeping my hands off of the products.  My mom was using a shopping list, and she realized she forgot to get some bread (at least I think that's what it was).  I offered to go get it.  I was sure I knew where the bread was and I was sure I could find my way back to where she was.  I will make a long story short.  I did get the bread, and I did come back.  I took an alternate route back to where she was.  I was using my sense of adventure and my creativity.  When she didn't see me, she started to look for me.  And when I didn't see her, I started to look for her.  We were both wandering around in the grocery store - looking for each other.  Eventually I realized I was hopeless. I needed comfort and I needed help.

One of the employees finally helped and used the Public Address system.  "Will the mother of Jon please come to checkstand 3 and pick up your son.  He knows you are lost and he is here to find you."  The employee made me look so good.

People who need the Lord have a hopeless future.  They need a connection with the Lord, they need a hope and future.  They need to acknowledge that Jesus is Lord and accept the forgiveness of their sin.  You probably have a relative, a co-worker, a friend, or even have a person who lives down the street who needs the forgiveness and hope of Jesus Christ.  Let's pray that God is clearly revealed to them and also that this person (whose name you may know or not) responds to the love of God.

Theme of Prayer - The lost and hopeless

Prayer for Today - "Dear Lord please continue to reveal Yourself to people.  I ask especially for __________ (names or addresses of people) to meet You face to face and find joy in being forgiven by You. May they smile at their salvation, and be a fully devoted follower of Yours.  Lastly Lord, give me opportunities to love and care for this person. In Jesus Name. Amen "
