Beautiful Feet!

by Heidi Verheyden on October 16, 2021

"How, then, can they call on the One they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the One of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"  Romans 10:14-15

The other day I was talking with a mom about her daughter, who attends our children's ministry program on Wednesday Nights.  Her daughter is in kindergarten. The group curriculum we use is called TEAM KID, and it is oriented toward spiritual growth and Bible knowledge. I was asking her how she liked it, and the mom got a huge smile and her face.  It was clear to see that the answer was going to be positive, and she said, "Yes" with a big grin.  She spoke about a conversation that had actually just occurred with her daughter earlier in the day about TEAM KID.

She mentioned one very special detail about the conversation. Her daughter said that she was excited to go to Team Kid that night and she also said, "That’s where we learn about feet!" The mom looked puzzled at her daughter and asked what she meant. Her daughter replied, "Remember the story, where Jesus washed the disciples’ feet?"  "We get to learn about Jesus and what He did!" As the mom is telling me the story, it filled my heart with joy that this sweet little kindergartener understood the lesson takeaway. Each and everyone of us has the chance to have beautiful feet as we go around and spread the good news of Jesus Christ.

Spreading the good news of Jesus is one of the most important things we can do.  Whether it is using verbal words, sending a text message or email, or even mailing a card - telling people about the good news of Jesus is exciting and important.  Who can you think of who you could share the good news of Jesus with during this week?
