“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
When I was a little boy, I remember driving from my hometown of Stockton, California to San Francisco. I loved going over one of the bridges. It cost fifty cents to drive across and get over the water in the bay. Being on the bridge made my mom nervous and she didn’t like being above the water. I think she had a fear of falling in.
Have you ever traveled somewhere along the water and needed to cross a bridge to get to the other side? Maybe the water was a creek, a slough, a stream, a river, or even a bay. What a relief it is not to have to walk or drive all the way around just to reach the other side. Bridges connect two places that would otherwise stay apart.
Today, I want you and me to focus on the connection we have with God and why it matters.
We are reminded of hope — Isaiah 40:31
We are given peace — 1 Peter 5:7
We are not alone — Hebrews 13:5
We can experience transformation — Romans 12:2
We can think differently — Philippians 4:8
