Being With God

In the book of Genesis, from the beginning, we see that God made man and woman and that He was with them.

In the Gospels, as Jesus enters our world, we read that He made His dwelling with us. In fact, his very name, Emmanuel, means “God with us.”

In Revelation, we read, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with mankind. He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God.”

From beginning, to middle, to end, the consistent message of scripture is that God desires to be with us.

Jesus tells his disciples, “I consider you my friends” (John 15:15). Don’t you love being with a good friend? Just to be in their presence is a joy.

Dwell on what it means to live your life with God.

If your trust is in Jesus Christ, you are God’s beloved child. He is for you. He has called you friend. You have the priceless gift of His presence. He is with you.

Even when you did not want this treasure of God’s presence in your life, God sought you. We were made to be with Him. We left God, but Jesus made a way for us to be with God again. What a devout, gracious, and loving Friend we have.

Receive and enjoy the truth that you have a God who lovingly longs to be with you.
