“Again, Again, Again!”

Galatians 6:9 reminds us, “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
I’ve discovered that one of the unwritten rules of life with a toddler is this: if you’re willing to do something once, you’d better be ready to do it a thousand times. One of the most common phrases I hear from my daughter is, “Again, again, again!” What starts as a single playful toss in the air quickly turns into a full-on workout, complete with sweat on my brow and a feeling like I’ve signed up for toddler-inspired cross-fit.
If you’ve spent time with a toddler, you know how much they thrive on repetition. Whether it’s reading a favorite story, singing a song, or being tossed in the air, their little voices inevitably cry, “Again, again, again!” While it can feel exhausting, repetition is how they learn and grow—it’s their way of making sense of the world and learning.
In the same way, spiritual growth often comes through repetition. Daily Scripture reading, participation in church, consistent prayer, and faithful acts of kindness may seem ordinary, but they build a strong foundation for our faith. Just as toddlers need repeated experiences to learn, we need regular reminders of God’s truth to shape our hearts and guide our lives. We need to sow good seeds again and again and again.
Sometimes doing the right thing, over and over, can feel exhausting—but repetition strengthens what is worth reinforcing. So, repeat what is worth reinforcing. As you continue doing good, again and again and again, trust that a harvest of growth and goodness is on its way. Keep going—don’t give up!
