A Psalm of Reassurance

God is our refuge and strength,
    an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
    and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
    and the mountains quake with their surging.

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
    the holy place where the Most High dwells.
God is within her, she will not fall;
    God will help her at break of day.
Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
    he lifts his voice, the earth melts.

The Lord Almighty is with us;
    the God of Jacob is our fortress.

Come and see what the Lord has done,
    the desolations he has brought on the earth.
He makes wars cease
    to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
    he burns the shields with fire.
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
    I will be exalted among the nations,
    I will be exalted in the earth.”

11 The Lord Almighty is with us;
    the God of Jacob is our fortress.      – Psalm 46

In seasons of uncertainty, when the world seems to be spinning out of control, “God is our refuge and strength.” (Psalm 46:1).  Can you remember a time when you felt utterly lost?  Remember this reassurance:  God is a sturdy shelter in this storm!

When trouble knocks at our door, it’s hard not to feel overwhelmed.  But remember those times when you called out for help, and somehow there was peace amidst the chaos, as if an invisible hand lovingly touched your heart, whispering that you are not alone. “Therefore we will not fear!”—let those words echo like a warm embrace.  Isn’t it incredible how faith transforms fear into courage?

Life throws hard and heartbreaking challenges our way!  Speak the truths so beautifully penned in the 46th Psalm, and lean into God’s solace.  With every trial, may God kindle a flame of hope reminding us of His ever-present love and support.  He’s watching over us!  Our refuge and strength are just a prayer away!

PRAYER:  Lord, thank You for your words of reassurance.  Hold me in the shelter of Your arms, hedge me in with Your divine protection, help me remember Your promises, and grant me peace today.  Amen.

I could share more, but here is the point. That one simple pause, just asking God what to do, led to blessing after blessing. I do not always live like this. But that is why I need reminders like this one. Little moments of surrender can shape a day, and sometimes they reach further than we know.

So today, take a moment. Ask Him to lead. Make space to listen. You never know what He might unfold.
