“Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation.” — Colossians 1:15 (NLT)
Has God ever felt distant to you? Have you ever wondered what He looks like? What He’s really like? That longing isn’t wrong. In fact, it’s deeply human. And Colossians 1:15 gives us a beautiful answer: Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.
Jesus makes the invisible God known. He is not just a reflection of God—He is God, made visible in flesh and blood. If we want to know what God is like, we need to draw near to Jesus. His compassion, His strength, His humility, His holiness—all of it reveals the heart of God.
When we read the Gospels and watch Jesus touch the untouchable, welcome the outsider, speak truth with grace, and lay down His life in love, we are seeing God in action.
So, if you ever wonder what God is like, don’t look up into the clouds. Look to Christ. He is the clearest picture we have and He is more beautiful than we could have imagined.
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for revealing the Father to us. Thank You for showing us what God is like through Your life, Your love, and Your sacrifice. Help me to know You more so that I may know God more. Let my eyes stay fixed on You. Amen.
