Loosening Our Grip: Trusting the God Who Never Fails

Life is full of surprises. The funny thing is that while we are often caught off guard by the curve balls life throws our way, God never is. He sees the beginning and the end, and nothing that happens in our lives can ever truly shock, stun, or surprise Him.

So why do we struggle to trust Him? Our natural reaction in difficult moments is to tighten our grip—to try to control the outcome. But what we really need to do is learn to loosen that grip, to release our worries into the hands of the One who is never surprised.

Trusting God becomes easier when we take time to reflect on all He has already done in our lives. The more we recognize His faithfulness, the more our hearts can rest in His steady hands.

I’m reminded of the memorial stones God commanded Joshua and the Israelites to take from the Jordan River (Joshua 4:1-9). These stones were a visible reminder for future generations of God’s power and faithfulness. I encourage you to set aside time to read that passage and consider setting up your own “memorial stones” as a family—whether that’s writing down answered prayers, sharing testimonies, or creating a simple way to remember God’s goodness.

May these reflections on God’s goodness inspire you to trust Him more fully.
