God Doesn’t Give Up on You

“I will obey your decrees. Please don’t give up on me!” (Psalm 119:8, NLT)

At some point, we have all felt like the psalmist—aware of our failures, struggling with weakness, and wondering if God might finally be done with us. But the good news of the gospel is that God does not give up on His children.

Romans 8 assures us of this truth: “Nothing can ever separate us from God’s love” (Romans 8:39, NLT). Our sin, our struggles, even our doubts do not cause Him to walk away. He is not a God who abandons His people when they fail. Instead, He is the Good Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to rescue the one who has wandered. He is the Father who runs to meet the prodigal child.

If you have ever feared that God might be done with you, take heart. His love is steadfast, His mercy is new every morning, and His grace is greater than your failures. He began a good work in you, and He will be faithful to complete it (Philippians 1:6). So keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him—He is always near and will never turn you away.
