Row Crops and Orchards

“The Lord works out everything to it’s proper end” Proverbs 16:4

I was driving along in the country and saw all the “rows” of vegetation.
Rows of lettuce.
Rows of Bell Peppers.
Rows of onions.

Then about 2 miles later I saw something similar, all lined up and in order.
Rows of Walnut trees.
Rows of Almond Trees.
Rows of Cherry Trees.
Rows of vineyards.

There is a certain sense of order. I love looking out the window and seeing these rows. I can’t actually hear the sound, but when driving past the rows it is almost possible to hear the sound of each row going “whip, whip, whip, whip, whip.”

I am reminded that nothing is out of God’s control, he knows what’s going on. A great work to describe that nothing is out of God’s control is – “God is Sovereign.” We often have life experiences and situations that are so loud and consuming that we forget about and fail to consider God’s perspective. We aren’t always able to see or trace the mighty hand of God, but that’s because we are often very earthly minded.

When thinking about ‘CONTROL,” a great passage to remind us of the power, control, and authority of Jesus comes from James 4:13-17. “Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit’ -yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.’ As it is, you boast about your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.”
