Love That Endures

Scripture: “And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” – 1 John 4:16
Valentine’s Day is often a celebration of romantic love, with flowers, cards, and special moments shared. But as beautiful as these gestures are, they point to something deeper—the longing in every heart for a love that lasts, a love that doesn’t falter when life gets hard.
In 1 John 4:16, we’re reminded that God is love. This isn’t just a poetic statement; it’s a reality. God’s love is the source of all love, the kind that endures through every trial and fills every empty place in our hearts.
The world often defines love by what it can get—affection, attention, security. But God’s love is defined by what it gives. It’s a selfless, sacrificial love, perfectly displayed in Jesus, who gave His life for us on the cross.
This Valentine’s Day, whether you’re surrounded by loved ones or feeling the sting of loneliness, remember that you are cherished by the One whose love never fails. His love isn’t conditional on your performance, your past, or your plans. It’s eternal, unshakable, and freely given.
Take time today to reflect on this truth: You are deeply loved by God. And because of His love, you’re equipped to love others—not just with fleeting gestures, but with a love that reflects His heart.

Lord, thank You for Your perfect love. Teach me to rest in it, to be filled by it, and to reflect it to others. Help me to love as You love—with kindness, patience, and grace. Amen.
