I commute for work and spend quite a bit of time on the freeway. Lately, while driving on the freeway, I have been thinking about crash tests. In crash tests, cars are deliberately destroyed so that their safety can be tested for the sake of human lives. I know there’s of course money and other factors involved, and these tests may not always come from pure motives, but it does show that human lives are highly valuable, much more so than even the most expensive cars.
Cars can be replaced, but each human life is unique. Each person has been designed and knitted together by God. We are all very complex and are intricately made, taking time to grow inside and outside of the womb.
Satan wants us to believe we are not valuable and that our lives are easily dispensable. Satan wants us to believe that we are worthless, good for nothing, and like what we do with our lives does not matter. But this is not true at all! Our lives are a gift and miracle. Each person is a gift and a miracle and Jesus paid for us with a very high price.
Matthew 6:26, “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” God deeply values you.
