The Power of God

We all have days in our lives that we remember, and for me one of them will be July 6th 2023. On that day I suffered what I am told should have been a fatal heart attack.

Every doctor or nurse I have spoken with tells me I am a walking miracle, and while they may have their own interpretation of miracle, I have no doubt that I am here on Earth through the blessings of God and the prayers of many.

Matthew 10:29-31 says, “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”

I have no doubt that God’s eyes were on me that day and the days following. When I arrived at the first hospital, I needed to have a very delicate procedure performed and it just happened that a world-renowned expert on administering the test was working as a visiting doctor at that hospital.

Then it was decided that I needed to be placed on a very special life support machine so my heart could gain enough strength for the necessary surgery. Once again, it just happened that at UCSF, the necessary machine was available at precisely the right time.

When my sister, a nurse herself, arrived at the first emergency room, the first person she encountered was my nurse who happened to be a former student of hers, someone she knew extremely well.

I could go on and on about all of the times in my recovery process that the exact right person or the exact right words were available at the exact right time.

That is not a coincidence, that is the power of God.

I am now 7 months into my recovery and my hope is in the next couple of months to return home. I want to thank my church family for all the support they have given to me and to my mom over the past months.

And never doubt that God has His eye on you.
