Lesson from IN N OUT #2

“So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.” 1 Peter 4:19

I’m not sure how many times I’ve been to IN N OUT for a burger, cheeseburger, fries or a drink, but I do know that I count on everything being of the same consistency every time I go. Inside the restaurant everybody looks sharp in the red and white outfits and the men look nice with the In-N-Out caps on that are white paper and the ladies look great in the red baseball caps. It seems as though everything is tidy and everything is in its place every time I go.

That makes the environment a very safe place, and it makes people want to return. The bathrooms are always clean. The tables are being wiped regularly. In addition to that, employees welcome customers with a smile. They don’t get upset or seem bothered With questions or even issues when we think something is wrong with our order. They just seem to have a caring spirit, one that causes me to want to return, and one that causes me to want to be like them, and one causes me to want to promote their restaurant.

As a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, one of my desires is to be faithful and consistent in loving God, in loving other people. I want to be known by God as one who is faithful to Him, and I want the church and the people of God to know that I can be counted on and faithful. I want my faithfulness to be consistent and pray that the unbelieving world might see an honest man “under construction” and have a bit of wonder saying “I wonder why Jon is at peace  and what is different?”

Would you simply keep in mind today and I will as well our consistency in Christ comes from spending time with him regularly.
