“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5: 14-16
Christ set an example for us to follow. He is the true light and He shines into our dark world. We are to follow his example. If we keep our faith to ourselves, it is as if we have put it under a bowl. If we put it under a bowl, it would be extinguished.
If we have His light in our hearts, we should look different. We should radiate Christ’s love in all our actions. How would that look in our daily activities? It would show in our kindness to those around us. We would serve with a servant’s heart and look for every opportunity to share the gospel. We should be growing closer to Jesus as we learn to do His will. We don’t have to be big with showy lights, just steady. Faithful. Available to Him.
