Butterflies are not mentioned in the Bible, towers are (Genesis 11:1-9). Metamorphosis is very similar to transformation, rebirth and renewal which are mentioned many times (2 Corinthians 5:17, Psalm 107:14, Ephesians 4:22-24, Ezekiel 36:26, John 3:3.6&7).
Recently, some of my friends and family have voiced frustration and anger at information and calls getting lost from cell phone to cell phone. Fault and blame were usually focused on the brand, older vs. newest generation of cell phones, or the company providing services.
When I take a moment to consider the billions of cell phones and the towers now more and more like sculptures of metal cans and butterflies clinging in clusters on a tall pole that we now call towers…I get a bit woo-woo!
So much information traveling on and on from one small cellphone to another! Complex information with AI, likely smarter than me, translating sound and images to the one receiving it. This phenomenon makes me wonder “What’s Next”? What will I see happen in this brief time I’m here living in the world.
Of course, the big “What’s Next” question is regarding Jesus’s return, and we have much speculation about that event just as our forefathers did. (Matthew 24:27-44, Luke 21: 34-36, John 5:28-29)
In the meantime, technology and science are another matter, certainly not religion, but man made altars to be reckoned with, to be sure. Hopefully, we are all asking the question, “Who am I following…metal cans, butterflies, or Jesus?”
