You are priceless

When I was a kid, I remember asking my parents a strange question: “If someone offered you a million dollars for me, would you take it?” They immediately said, “No.” I was shocked. So, I pushed a little. “Okay, what about 2 million? 10 million? 50 million?” They always said no. Honestly, I started thinking they weren’t very good at business. That’s a lot of money! But when I asked why, they said, “Because you’re priceless to us.”

That’s how it should be with parents. Yet, sadly, painfully, that is not always the case.

But here’s the beautiful truth we see in God’s Word: God sees you as priceless. Even when we feel like we’re not worth much… God looks at us with love and says, “You mean so much to me.”

There’s a verse in Romans 8:32 that says: “God who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”

That verse reminds us just how far God was willing to go for us.

God didn’t hold back anything.

He came to us in Jesus—fully God, fully human—and gave himself for us.

He carried our sin, our pain, our punishment.

He did it all so we could be forgiven, made new, and brought into his family.

And the verse is inviting us to ask:

If God did that for us… what wouldn’t he do?

How could we ever think we are anything less than deeply loved and valued by him?

When I think about why God would go to such lengths to show us our worth, I hear his voice.

I hear him calling us to trust him. I hear him inviting us into a relationship.

I hear him saying, “See yourself the way I see you. You are not forgotten. You are priceless in my sight. I want you to trust me and live life with me. I will never abandon you. When you feel at your worst, I want what is best for you.

You matter more to God than you may have ever known.
