For this—“warning everyone and teaching everyone”—I toil.
Colossians 1:29
“Toil” might sound off-putting.
In today’s language, it can come across as grimy, exhausting, even a little ugly.
But I don’t think that’s what Paul meant.
He wasn’t talking about drudgery.
He was talking about service. Purpose. Devotion.
And that’s how I want to live my life—serving.
Because when our lives are centered on Jesus, even the hardest work becomes holy.
So today, whatever you put your hands to whether its at home, at work, in relationships, do it as an act of love.
Serve with joy. Toil with purpose. Let Christ be the reason. He is worth our toil.
